Pay For Success
Pay for Success (PFS) is an innovative contracting model that aligns government resources to high-performing social programs. PFS contracts track the effectiveness of programs over time to ensure that funding is directed toward programs that succeed in measurably improving the lives of people most in need. In a PFS contract, the government provides funding once a program or organization achieve predetermined results. Because the commitment for payment occurs after programs and interventions deliver desired and predetermined outcomes, PFS is an attractive accountability model.
The Offices of Representative Ausley and Mayor Gillum are engaged in the work of developing a PFS feasibility study with the support of the Institute for Child Success. Through this partnership, which includes the Office of the Governor, Early Learning Coalition, Florida Center for Reading Research and Whole Child Leon, we have been able to take a closer look at the work being done right here in Tallahassee to perpetuate Early Childhood Education and opportunities for all learners. Because of the Quality Rating System for Childcare providers and other innovations, we are able to explore PFS partnerships to increase investments in our community. The focus here is on outcomes concerning Kindergarten Readiness and the resources available to support families in having and nurturing healthy children and future leaders.
